Dear Readers,

“The Longest journey is the journey inward” – Dag Hammarskjold

I would like to share a Short Story of LES AND FRAN HEWITT on “Laugh and BE HAPPY”

A five-year old boy was seated beside his Dad in the car. Deep in thought, the man wore a serious expression. The little boy suddenly asked, “Dad, are you happy”?

His father replied, “Yes, of course I am.”

“Then why it does not tell on your face?”

Have you noticed how serious most people are these days? We need to laugh. It’s nourishing and it promotes better health. Laughter strengthens our immune system and it can lift us out of emotional pain. Often we are blind to the joy and happiness around us because we have not been taught or conditioned to see it. We rush through our busy days, yet all around us miracles are unfolding. To recognise and appreciate all the blessings in our lives, we need to develop eyes that can see them. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude will have the greatest impact on our happiness.

Research has shown that people who describe themselves as having an attitude of gratefulness have a higher vitality and optimism for living. They are not as materialistic as others, so they suffer less anxiety about lifestyle and status. They describe themselves as happy and satisfied.

Current issue is on Provisions pertaining to Filing of Return for the A.Y. 2016-17. I must compliment CA Bhadresh Doshi for creating a synopsis to provide excellent coverage to the Current subject of Provisions pertaining to Filing of Return for the A.Y. 2016-17. I am sure it will be very useful to our members as a reference material while dealing with matte₹

For readers benefit, I would like to share a write up of Les and Fran Hewitt

Find your Freedom

If you want more peace and harmony in your life, I strongly suggest you fire the Nag. To help you find your freedom, here’s a practical checklist:

1) Keep asking yourself, “What’s more important, my relationship or my rules.”

2) Accept the fact that you have a choice in every situation. You can choose what you want to strive for and you can choose when you want to settle for less.

3) Experiment with your standards. Choose an activity and instead of insisting on 100 per cent, see what it’s like doing it to an 80 per cent standard or even 60 per cent.

4) Set realistic standards and goals. Talk this over with someone you trust

5) Determine the underlying beliefs driving your compulsion. Ask yourself, “What will happen if it’s not done right? – Will you survive?

6) Be alert every day for The Nag and vigorously challenge her. Gradually she will lose power.

7) Check to see if you have a major need for acceptance. “When I‘m perfect, I’ll be accepted. “If your belief centres on this, you need to work on self-acceptance. What will make you feel better about whom you are?

8) Being a perfectionist is nothing to be ashamed of. Acknowledge your frustration and Pain

9) Change your thinking. Here are some examples:

From : When I achieve perfection, I will find inner peace. To : When I let go of perfection, I will find inner peace.

From : I must be perfect or I’ll be rejected. To : I’m perfect when I make mistakes because this shows others that I’m human.

From : If I make a mistake I’ll be humiliated To : If I make a mistake I will learn more from it

From : There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. To : There are many ways to do things.

From : If I demand that others do things my way, I’ll be happy. To : If I help another person and do our best, we both will be happier.

I will end my communication with the quote of Glenna Salisbury, “Dare to dream big dreams based on your heartfelt desires.”
